Acorn & Cap
The Acorn & cap were created for the International Sculpture Conference 2000 in Houston, Texas. In April of that year a dozen or so large sculptures were installed along Buffalo Bayou in Houston to mark the new millennium. The sculpture was based on my small (7 in.) ceramic version.
The acorn & cap have a permenent home with the Montgomery County Master Gardener Association in Conroe, Texas. And since its installation in 2000 the Construction Crew and Floral Gardening Group have provided a beautifully landscaped surround of bull rock, ornamental grasses and other drought tolerant plants.
These pictures document the original installation on Allen Parkway, it's home in Conroe and the restoration we did in the spring of 2010.
